biga*ranx nous dévoile enfin son premier opus « on time » signé sur le label x-ray production.
un album éclectique et original avec comme fil conducteur la voix inclassable de cet artiste de talent. il nous livre un condensé de ses influences musicales en mariant les styles avec brio et en faisant de sa spécialité le mélange des genres.
maniant aussi bien le patois jamaïcain que la langue de shakespeare, ce chanteur hors-normes aux multiples facettes impose son propre univers en alliant un flow typiquement dancehall à un chant mélodique aux allures plus soul. mixé au studio de la grande armée à paris et masterisé à translab, l'album a bénéficié d'une production soignée.
biga* fait appel à divers beat maker européens pour composer cet album, on retrouve notamment olo du collectif ondubground ou encore les producteurs danois maffie. il décide de s'entourer d'un guitariste ainsi que d'une choriste pour enrichir les compositions et l'accompagner en live.
pour ce premier album, biga*ranx choisit ses featurings parmi ses proches. le rappeur autrichien governor general rugged avec qui il a crée une formation hip hop alternative mus bus, l'inusable joseph cotton et green cross avec qui il partage la scène depuis ses débuts.
passant aisément du ragga au hip hop, le tout agrémenté de riff de guitare blues et de sonorités electro, biga*ranx démontre qu'il est un artiste incroyable sur lequel il va falloir compter. ce premier album « on time » arrive juste à temps pour être l'évènement musical de la rentrée.
